FIFA POINTS CALCULATION

Formula: M x I x T x C= P
 
 














M stands for Match.
3 points for a victory,
1 point for a draw,
and no points to the losing team.
In penalty shootout, the winning team get 2 points while to losing team get 1 point.
I stands for Importance (of the match).
Friendly match and small tournament: 1
World Cup qualifier continental qualifier: 2
Continental Cup and Confederations Cup: 3
World Cup: 4
T stands for strength of opposing team.
How to calculate the strength? The formula is 200-the ranking of opposing team. Except for the first ranking team. The strength of ranking number 1 team is always 200. Also for the team that is ranked 150th and below, the strength of those team is always 50.
C stands for strength of the opposing team’s confederation.
This strength is calculated from the last 3 world cup.
UEFA and CONMEBOL: 1.00     
CONCACAF: 0.88
AFC and CAF: 0.86  
OFC: 0.85
